14 bolt axle

Okey, question.
I have a 59 Chevy Apache 3100.
My parts truck to make this a project truck is a 93 GMC 2500LD.
Due to having to move across the county, I want to take what I can off the GMC so I don't have to tow and store it.
The truck has a 14 bolt 6lug axle, it's fresh cause I rebuilt it when it was a work truck and ran.
So my goal is to remove everything*possible that I can convert to fit.
I am wanting to know If the 14 bolt will fit if I move I remove it.

I know a lot more will fit and I have*a list of everything I am taking to transfer. But my big question is the 14 bolt semi float rear.

Thanks for the info guys, hope someone knows.

Mike

Re: 14 bolt axle

There are a couple different widths for the 14b SF. The 65" would be ideal. Probably won't be able to put wide meats on.

Next issue is the move across country. I just recently moved 5 miles. Moving all my tools and parts was a huge pain. After 9 mos, I'm far from organized still. My advice is, "less is more." The less you have to move, the better. I know you're invested into your 14b, but you an always find another. There are other options out there too for a rearend swap.

Re: 14 bolt axle

Thanks for the reply. I agree, moving sucks.
I know for sure I want the EFI, steering, trans, AC stuff and exhaust. All was new till the motor blew on the truck. 200+k miles

I'll have to measure for sure.

Wide tires may be an issues now that you bring that up. I got some fat tires now, I am sure they won't fit.

Thanks again

Re: 14 bolt axle

fat tires or deep rims won't work with rear axle under your truck unless you are into the seventies half the tire outside the fender look.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
