Is that done for 4wheeling purposes? I've never heard of that before, but it seems like it would be great for 4x4.

Re: added a little lift to my super short c10

usually done because somebody either wants/likes a short bed, or, being that the shorts fetch more money, some will cut down a long bed and sell it as a shorty. Unfortunately, the welds are not always done correctly. I believe the bed is cut in two places to make it look correct, the one above looks to have been cut in only one place.

Re: added a little lift to my super short c10

When I see a short bed for sale on Craigslist, the first thing I ask is if it's a factory short bed or a conversion, and usually I get no response.

Looks like, yup.

OP - lift looks nice, truck sits nice. Who did the short bed conversion?

I like that size lift with the tire size. Was that body put on a short truck frame or a blazer frame?

It looks like the bed was shortened in front of the rear wheels....but not shortened (and thus, left full length) behind the rear wheels.
Noting (to the best of my knowledge) that a 'short bed' would be shorter in both areas.

Re: added a little lift to my super short c10

ok so what this truck is.
well its a 69 c10 long box fleet side with over 30 inches taken out of the front of the box only, none taken out of the back . #1 reason for this is no weld line to fill cause the weld is done on front lip of the box. #2 more room at the back of the box behind the wheel wells.
now the frame is like cypressbog said its a 83 blazer frame . reason for this blazers make great 4 wheelers because of the short wheel base and weight distribution .
also fits easy in my garage .
the engine is a 350 first gen vortec bored 30 over with ported heads elderbrock intake and carb and HEI electric fuel pump headers etc.
pro comp suspension .
just so we are clear i was not going for a short box conversion i was going for making a truck that is not the same that everyone else has guys on here drop their trucks to the ground some make short beds some have rake etc i wanted to goto shows and draw some attention to the truck i built from the ground up everything i did to this truck was planned out and built by me with no help from anyone except for my 13 yr old son who we are building this for this truck is 100% rust free new glass engine suspension etc this was not a accident it was meant to look like this and in person it looks bad a$$ it has been to car shows and it draws a crowd and most of the comments are good .
not that that really matters because my son loves it and thats what really matters .
tire size is 245 75 r 16
thanks for looking.

Well done! My dad passed away when I was 15, so I missed out on our "first build". What I do remember to this day is getting my hands greasy, grabbing wrenches, cleaning parts, smelling tire smoke, while working with him. 40yrs from now I hope your son says "dad, remember when we did this........".

thanks, my dad passed away a couple years ago and he left me some money that my mother made me take even though i told them not to give it to me so i decided to build this truck with the money for my son and i to enjoy.
i know my dad would have wanted that.

Re: added a little lift to my super short c10

anyone ever change the rubber bushing on the end of the sway bar that bolts onto the perch on top of the front leaf springs ? i got the old bushings out with a torch to burn out the rubber and i tried to freeze the new ones but they just seem to not go in is there a trick?

Re: added a little lift to my super short c10

If I remember right I used pb blaster to lube them up on my 3100.(on an 88 K5 frame)my dad and I built that truck when I was in high school. 10 years later I live 2000 miles from him but I still have my truck and the memories I cherish that go with it. Job well done Sir!
