Anyone have a under hood wiring diagram for a 84 6.2 diesel

Im trying to get rid of all the previous owners wiring add ons but i want to make sure i dont screw up the trucks running ability. Im new to the 6.2 diesels so im not sure what all is suposed to go where ect.. wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram.

When you buy the used paper the wiring diagrams are not separate they're in the last chapter of the service manual.

Thanks. Yea a nice underhood shot of a unmolested 6.2 would be great i just pulled a bunch of extra wiring last night but i got alot to go i swear this this was wired for a dozen different trailer lights and brakes and just as many cbs and who know what all else.

One went right side up? I'll work on that. The two extra red wires with the yellow connectors at the junction block were camper charge wires I can take better detail pictures if you like. Sorry it's dusty Tough to take decent pictures

Cody. That's just the contactor. The round 6 terminal controller will be in the front Right Corner of the intake manifold. The round controllers are fine as long as they work. The replacement round controllers are not made in the US and they don't last long.
The 1985 - 2001 6.x L glow controller is an easy replacement. Mount it where the contactor is right now.

That Stanadyne 80 box filter tends to leak like a sieve. The stock 1995-2001 6.5L Diesel Stanadyne Filter manager mounted in the intake valley is a better choice. Brand new 1995 Stanadyne FFM costs right around $125 complete filter, housing, Water in fuel sensor, and heater.

That's what I meant. It works well and I don't intend to change it, thanks for the tip if I ever need to. The old filter didn't leak and I had no problem with this one yet. I have seen several use these and never heard of a problem. This isn't an upgrade truck or a driver. I start it a few times a year and maybe 200km a year tops. I just want to keep everything working and from ceased up. I don't intend to update it or get any performance out of it

I have a catch can and keep the spillage from splashing everywhere when you change it out. That's my only complaint with it I guess with the fuel filter

The housing around water in fuel sensor tends to corrode and leak eventually. If it's working right now and you can get good quality filter cartridges keep it. The FFM is much easier to service and you can get parts for it.

If you burn out the round 6 pin timer and thermostat module don't expect a new one to last more than a few weeks unless you somehow luck into a real GM unit from the 1980's gathering dust on some shelf.
The 1985-2001 controller can be calibrated for the AC60G Positive Temperature Coefficient self regulating glow plugs. The old AC 9G & 11G glow plugs swell up when they fail the AC60G and other PTC glow plugs don't usually do that. I've done the curse and swear and get red in the face bit removing what's left of old school swelled up glows through the injector hole on GM & VW diesels.

I put new exhaust on the truck 2 summers ago. I had to pull the manifolds to replace the studs and I pulled the glow plugs and they looked new too so I put the new ones on the shelf. The truck high idles still when cold and the glow plugs cycle well like they should. Idles up when a/c is turned on cruise works It's a miracle truck. Haha I found tighten everything up good and tight because even the manifold and power steering pump brackets rattled loose in no time. The old timer that had this truck got it new when he was 60+ and took real good care of it

LOL Never know Cody.....heaven knows I love my old 6.2's.....Been running them since the early 90's. Wore out quite a few.....
