SO i bought some slots from a board member..

So I met up with kevin (aka Da burb) recently and bought a set of slots from him. Spent a good amount of time cleaning them. Here is the end result. 16.5x9.75. What to do with them?
Hmmm picked up a set of tires over the weekend that will fit the rims...
Hmmm On the blazer I just picked up from sharpie??? Yes those are 8 lug axles on it.
Nah, I have a different plan. Stay tuned...

If I know you, Eric, the plan is to hang them on the wall or stash them with all your other good stuff. I thought you had too much already

Should have known what better? Not to buy from that member or to see good pictures of them all before buying?

I don't have much for 3/4 ton stuff, so I gotta start somewhere. These will get used... if the stars align, the sun rises and the wind blows just right... Course they would look good on the wall too!

Re: SO i bought some slots from a board member..

I'm about to be slotless for the first time in I don't know how many years. They are already sold and now I have to haul them up to the Carlisle swap meet on this rainy soggy day with flood warnings that turned me away from setting up. Who'd a knew it would be a wash-out two years in a row? I needed the money to put toward a new set of wheels and tires or they'd be stashed for later. I already have a line on another set. Crazy, ain't it??

Eric, you are now officially an 8-lugger guy... even if all you have are those wheels

Re: SO i bought some slots from a board member..

I have 8.25 x 16.5 slots on my 72, but I can't find 33" tires for them anymore, I have a 2 1/2" lift on my truck, but don't think that will clear 35's that is all I can find, so will probably be going with a newer style aluminum wheel in 16" sucks to not be able to run my old slot wheels, I have always loved the look of them...

It has the 4 deluxe panels with the trim. I do have a set of woodgrain inserts for a burb... Wonder what model those would have been on? I also have a nice set of nuts now thanks to tim!

C'mon people... lug nuts for the slots.

Yeah, now I can see looking harder at it. Now I can see the scroll. You can put the trim on basic panels. That thing must have an 8" lift. I see the No-Spin sticker. Nicely optioned Suburban

Re: SO i bought some slots from a board member..

All 72's came with plastic. Custom deluxe and Cheyenne/super had scrolls and chrome trim on the upper part of the panel. For Cheyenne and super the scrolls are covered by the wood grain insert.

Re: SO i bought some slots from a board member..

I had a 72 K/20 burb a few years ago, all original ( it was bronze, you might remember it) it had Cheyenne interior in it, seat covers, carpet, and wood grain door panel inserts. It was a custom deluxe, but also had something like " custom interior " listed as an option also. It's the only one I have seen like that. I'll see if I can find the SPID pic.
