New wiring....no brake lights
I am rewiring my 1967 C10 using a Speedway harness. I got almost everything wired and working except I have no brake lights. There is a orange wire running from the fuse panel to the brake light switch and a white wire coming off the brake light switch that goes to the turn signal connector. I get +12v at the turn signal connector when I press the brake pedal. The steering column is out of the truck so the turn signal switch is not connected. Can I assume the reason the brake lights don’t work is because the steering column with the turn signal switch is not in the truck?

Re: New wiring....no brake lights
Yes, I believe so. The brake signal needs to go through the turn signal switch, so the turn signal can interrupt the voltage going to one or the other of the brake lights to make it flash when you're turning. The bulb filaments are shared between braking and turn signal.

That would be a big 10-4 there.
