What size vette steering wheel with power steering?

So I retrofitted power steering to my 72 and find that the original steering wheel makes the steering feel way too easy. What size steering wheel are you guys running?

Also looking to go with a corvette wheel. I have a 78 vette and the wheel for that does not bolt in the center. Earlier models did I guess? Any one have any pics of a vette wheel without the horn cap on it yet to be able to see the install? Does the horn work any differently?

Corvette steering wheels bolt on with 6 bolts or so to a "HUB". You need a steering wheel and hub to make a complete wheel. The corvette horn adapter will work with your steering column. I just did this a month ago. You will need a "Hub" from a 1967 Camaro as it fits the best, its smaller diameter and matched the truck steering column better. If you use a later hub it will bolt on just fine but the diameter is larger and its noticeable from the side.

Re: What size vette steering wheel with power steering?

What is the ratio of your new steering box? (Assuming that you went that way with the conversion.). The ratio of the box could range from 24:1 to 12:1. (Again assuming you got a box from a GM vehicle. Yes, Ford boxes can be used, Saginaw 800,s ) There should be a two letter code on the box to help ID the ratio. If you have one of the high numbered ratios you may never get a wheel that will feel right. Steering effort is a personal decision that is hard to express over the internet. That being said maybe some one in your area with a similar setup could meet you and let you a take a test drive. For my Javelin I went to a wrecking yard and picked up a couple of cheap wheels and tried them out before making the big purchase.
Good luck.
