Fleetside Steel Bed re-assembly question - weatherstripping?

When I disassembled the bed, there seemed to be some form of stripping between the wheel wells and the bed floor.

When I reassemble the bed, should I put anything between the steel floor and the sides/wells/back panel?

I think the most similar product is 3M strip caulk, also used on heater box to firewall
