How to locate a vehicle by VIN
I am looking for a truck my Dad bought new in 1981 and sold around 1985. I have the VIN. Anyone know of a good way to locate the current owners information? Carfax only tells me the city it is in which is about 1.5hrs away from me.
Thoughts...or help? |

Re: How to locate a vehicle by VIN
Good luck, I have been trying to locate my dads '77 K/10 that he bought new. With all the privacy laws the dmv can't tell you anything. They looked up my vin, and they have an address, it's even in my city, but they can't tell me. She did tell me it hasn't been registered since '97, so who knows if it's still around.

Re: How to locate a vehicle by VIN
Ya I'm coming up with dead ends. I have a good friend who runs a tow company, the state now monitors look up and sends the vehicle owners a notice their vehicle has been searched....he can't risk loosing that privilege.
Here is a couple pictures from 81/82 |
