Why didn't somebody tell me GM used 2 2G's?

I've been trying to get my C-10 to run decent, bought a carb kit to take care of the big dead spot on acceleration, had wrong air horn gasket, used old one, leaked bad, found right one, replaced gasket, took shortcut and didn't disconnect any linkages and screwed up the new accelerator pump, put the old one back in so I could haul wood. Got mad, still ran like crap, had a good 2bbl on a 69 w/350 in the pasture, went to bolt it on the 307 and it's too frickin' wide!!!!!!!! Now it's back to Napa for a new accelerator pump because it is barely driveable..........maybe I just need to switch intakes and go with a quadrajet........if I have any of those laying around that are any good.

Hey Chad, they made two different 2G carbs!!! There, I told you!!

I had the big 2G on my 327, it was a damn good carb. But if you've got a quadrajet intake/carb laying around, I'd go that route.

I've got a factory alluminum 350 intake and a new set of gaskets out in the barn.....and about 5 QJ's (none of which would do me any good without a kit)...........Oh well, back to Napa again.
