Re: My customers '62 almost done! THOUGHTS?

Haha yeah it's a lot of blue, but it looks really good in person. I would have broke it up a bit more but that's what the customer wanted.

I will have to agree on a bit of overload on the blue, and I really like blue. Regardless that is a very nice truck.

Re: My customers '62 almost done! THOUGHTS?

Personally, I love the over-the-top blueness of it.
(I am also interested to know what was used for the bed wood and coating)

Beautiful truck man. Like others have said, that's a lot of blue. I think a chrome grill would really pop on that deep of blue. Not my truck though. Either way, I hope the owner enjoys the hell out of it.

I wanted to chrome the grill since it's not reproduced but the customer didn't want to sprint for that unfortunately.

Re: My customers '62 almost done! THOUGHTS?

Actually guys that's not a stain. First we burned the wood to make the grain more visible. We put a burgundy candy in the clear that we shot. We sprayed about four heavy coats of clear on the wood three of which were with the root beer candy, then we put blue pearl in the next two coats to give it a subtle pop that can only be seen at certain lighting and angles. Next sanded it, sprayed three more heavy coats, sanded it again then re cleared it with four heavy coats of clear.
