That was close...
Was going to The Redlist Truck Wars 3 to defend my crown since I won the last one. Had the truck to the track 2 weeks ago and on the dyno last week. I ALWAYS change my oil before going to race. I almost skipped this time and sure glad I didn't.
This was stuck on my oil drain plug. It appears to be a lifter plug that holds the shaft in place that the roller rides on. Could have been real bad...

WOW,,, amazing how such a small piece will start such a HUGe repair bill. Glad it showed it's self before Mr Murphy visited.

Did you pull the lifters to verify? I know that's a PITA job... but you guys that drag race almost every weekend, it's probably a 1-2 hour job.

I have not yet pulled anything apart. I have too many other things to do. This was going to be my last race for quite some time as I want to do a few things to the truck. So, now it will sit for who knows how long.

I drained the oil on a 99 trans am I had and a lifter retainer was hung in the plug hole .
