Which trans crossmember to use?
Posting this for a friend. 1963 Chevy 1/2 ton shortbed. Wants to run a T56 6 speed manual trans with a 350 vortec engine. Will the stock transmission crossmember work or will he need to fab one? There is no crossmember in the truck right now.

Re: Which trans crossmember to use?
An auto trans crossmember from a '63-'86 C series or '87-'91 R series truck, Suburban or 2wd K5 Blazer will work. He'll just have to drill the bolt holes once he gets it located in the frame. Then I would convert the e-brake cables to the '66-'72 style. That is unless he gets really lucky and finds a '63-'65 auto trans crossmember.

Re: Which trans crossmember to use?
Yes he should be able to. That is unless there is an interference with the T56 that is different than an auto trans.
