Gen. III engine?
Does anyone know why GM is not replacing the Gen III engine, for a ticking noise? What's the problem with the engine?Any clues?

Ticking is usually normal, caused by either the fast bleed lifters or the injectors.
If you hear clanking at startup, you probably have the infamamous piston slap, and if you want the engine replaced it'll be a long and arduous process BTW, my 02 T/A sounds like a diesel when it's first started, but runs like a raped ape (12.86 ET with only an air lid for mods)
