Patina paint questions
I've decided to go with the patina ( Fautina) look on my truck, for a few reason:
1. It's had a real patina paint finish since I bought it 24 years ago I had to sand all the original paint down and cover what was left with Hot Rod black primer to keep the old girl from rusting any more. 2. I don't know if I would like a "Bright and Shiney" 46 year old truck. I'd be too afraid of scratch it. 3. I wouldn't like my truck being accused of being a "weekend show queen" 4. I'm Doing the paint myself, and a patina scheme will more forgiving with blemishes. 5. If I do scatch it, patina style paint is easier to match. Now to the advice seeking questions. After getting the primer as near to perfect as possible, will a single stage paint work to get my base color? ( I want to use 504 Medium Olive) Once I get the finish the way I want it, what type of clear should I use? Gloss and then scuff it? Or a satin/semi-gloss, light polish and leave it? I haven't seen any trucks done in my color, but "the look" has kinda grown on me. |

Re: Patina paint questions
One season of all the shows in Pidgeon Forge and you'll wish you painted it the first time .
