2" lowering blocks
hey dudes, I lowered my 72 pick up truck and used 2.5" spindles, 2 inch drop springs in the front and 3" drop springs in the rear, it lowered quit a bit but I dont like the way it stands so I was thinking of using 2 inch lowering blocks in the rear to level it out, when I look htem up they have a foot note that says you cant use 15" wheels . does anyone know why and if it does hit then where?

Re: 2" lowering blocks
No parts hit anything on the truck but, it creates a safety issue and it's therefore illegal in pretty much every jurisdiction on the planet.
With 15" wheels, installing 2" lowering blocks puts the bottom side/surface of the trailing arms below the bottom of the rim. 1-1/2" blocks are maximum or you'll have to go bigger diameter wheels or of course 4" drop springs. It's a safety issue should you ever have a tire blow, the trailing arm would contact the pavement and not the rim, and when that happens you skid uncontrollably like a skateboard on ice ... |

Re: 2" lowering blocks
I dont like blocks , they can be problematic , sliding around and making "clunking" noises , springs are the way to go
