Speedracer39, I'm right down the road from you with a few parts from a couple of 72's layin around. I have a little shop and do some engine, transmission, and rear axle work on some of the older stuff. Got any pics of that 72, we like pics you know and if you ever need some insight or help give me shout be glad to help. And welcome to the forum! Falls City, she's a beauty! Yes, more pics, under the hood and the interior please, oh and dont forget to get one of the SPID inside the glove box lid. Yup, she's a dandy all right, tell me she has a big block under that hood!

Bingo--- it's a 454, alum intake, Holley with Hooker headers the only bad thing I have no idea what year the engine is. I need to find a way to get the casting number from the back side of engine, I took a peak at it the other day and it's pretty tight.

yep, it's pretty tight. i've found the easiest way is to climb into the engine bay, hunker down with one foot on the inner fender, the other on a valve cover, and with a flash light in your mouth, use one hand to pull back the wire harness while the other hand takes a small wire brush down there and use trial and error until you get enough crud off the casting to take a picture which also takes several attempts. and you might need a break or two if your legs go numb from crouching under the hood.

NEW way...
clean off the engine in that area.. then borrow your kids, or neighbors kids, selfie stick,, and video on your cell phone, and film that area..

saves, back, knee's, and knuckles most times..

Yeah, what he said. It's easy! I just want to show appreciation for you wanting to deal with the ones who support the site. They are also the ones we trust and in some way know. I wouldn't steer you toward one vendor or another. That is your choice, and you can check the review board, read around, or just ask about a vendor's quality of service. Another advantage to checking the site vendor list is there is a chance you can find who is closest to you to avoid costly shipping on some stuff.

Most of all I want to say, "DANG, you sure found a good truck!" I can't read the fender badge, was it originally a 350 or a 402?
