Cutting CPP lowering springs
I need some help here guys, I've lowered my truck using a kit by CPP 3/5 with matching shocks and I wanna bring the front down another inch or two. I'm thinking of taking a turn off the springs or maybe even just half a turn. Can anyone who has done this comment on how they like the ride. I'll wait on some guidance before going ahead and doing anything.

I've read on here that
cut 1/2 coil = 1" cut 1 full coil = 2" someone else can confirm this. |

If you are looking to get 4 to 5 " its time to start thinking about spindles. Much past 3 inch springs and you start killing the ride and running out of travel.

x3 on the drop spindles. I cut 2 rounds off my stock springs (4-ish inches?) and the springs were so short they would fall out of the pockets when the front end was lifted up. I have 3" drop springs now, and that's as short as I would want to go.

My 65 C10 has the full 3/5" lowering spring kit that I cut 1.5 coils off the front springs and for the rear I added a 2" lowering block along with a carls speed shop pinion shim and Baby C notch. All this work was done about 6 or 7 years ago and has been great. Rides perfect and has way more hauling capabilities if I do say so. I never really bottom out except for the exhaust under the motor every once in a while. My front crossmember sits about maybe 2" off the ground and only hits on a heavily crowned gravel road. No biggie. Tire wear is perfect, it just does not turn very sharp in parking lots. Rock Steady combo. Never looked back. And yes the front springs do fall out if I jack the truck up. So I dont, I use ramps.

I'd sell the 3" front drop springs while I had the chance and go from there.

x2 on selling the 3" drop front springs. a better option is 2" drop spring with 2 1/2" drop spindles. I have this setup on mine with 5" rear coils. the ride is good. the front springs don't come out of the pockets when I raise it up and the steering clearance is not an issue. the only issue I've had is my long tube headers will scrap on speed bumps if I'm not careful and I have plenty of fender/tire clearance.
