Pedal height with power brakes

Hey all,
For those who have converted their trucks to power disc brakes, what did you settle on as a pedal height? I have a 1990 Tahoe booster and master cylinder combo. I know the eyelet on the booster push rod will need to be modified to the correct length, but I wanted an idea of pedal height. I think 5-6 inches would be about right.

Thoughts?

Make it right for you.
Think about changing the bumper for the up-swing to the height you want it.

What ever works for you, there's no incorrect way as long as the pedal has enough room for full travel. On my 62 I thought the factory pedal height was actually quite good so I set it how it was from the factory, and then lowered the clutch pedal to match the height of the brake pedal

I left mine at the stock height. I did re-drill the push rod location 1 inch lower.

I agree with all the above. You may want to look at some factory heights on 72-87 pickups with factory pb--usually they are a bit closer to the floor [than the clutch pedal and the brake pedal on the same-year non-pb pedals]. As a matter of personal opinion, I followed suit & set my pedal accordingly. I set the height using the up-stop as mentioned above, a last ditch, simple mod in the process.

Caution: keep in mind the proximity of your brake pedal to your accelerator pedal--can be dangerous.
Enjoy your work and when you get unsatisfactory opinions on here, make it fit YOUR tastes.

I agree with all that have commented, check it out for your self. BUT, if you need to, I took off my brake pedal arm, cut it and altered the angle then rewelded it. I was able to change the heighth without altering the brake pressure.
