Steering Wheel install help
I took the aftermarket wheel off about 5 years ago when I started by build and didn't take very good pics. I am trying to go back to a stock type wheel and bought the repo wheel, horn button and install kit. I think I am still missing some parts or maybe need to reuse some of the parts that were removed. Can someone help with a link or some directions for how to put this together? Thanks,

Re: Steering Wheel install help
Place part 2 from picture 1 on the column shaft then put the wheel on. But I need to see the bottom of that part to ensure it doesn't have a tapered end.
Then tighten down the wheel and install part 1, 2, 4 and 3 in that order from picture 2 with the bag of screws. Part 3 should now be springy and activate the horn. Part 2 from picture 2 goes in with the raised portion outward. Last edited by randy500; 01-03-2017 at 07:43 PM. |

Install the turn signal switch before you do anything...

Re: Steering Wheel install help
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=141 look at this and you should be able to put it all together, looks like you need the little spring plunger contact that goes in item 2 of your first pic you will use item 2....item 7 on the lmc truck page, looks like you may have to buy the kit(item 7) and like randy 500 said, install the turn signal lever before you do anything, and you will use the spring that is in your first picture also, you will re-use the nut and washer that you should have removed from your old wheel that screws onto the steering shaft

Re: Steering Wheel install help
horn contact kit #8 on the lmc page is what you need, not kit 7....and Randy 500 is right , not the right spring in your pic, is there a heavy spring on the shaft already?

Re: Steering Wheel install help
I will check on the old column to see if the heavy spring is still on it, but otherwise I don't have it. I am not seeing it listed in the LMC catalog either, does anyone have a part # for the correct one?
