Brought a couple more home
I found two 72 parts burbs on Craigslist before Christmas and finally got a chance to go look at them day before yesterday. Story goes that he bought the place a while back and the old owner left several things back in the woods and he was trying to get the place cleaned up. After I got there the guy let me know he had a ton of parts he was looking to get rid of as well. He wasn't kidding either, there was a 14x70 mobile home packed floor to ceiling front to back with just a small isle to walk thru. A few things were for square bodies and some for 89 and up so figuring I did not have enough money for everything I told him I would think about it and get back to him. On the way back out I saw a white top and stopped to look at it. It was a single wall 72' Blazer top with a decent hatch and soft ray glass. Anyway, I texted him back this morning with an offer for everything and he accepted it. Just got home with the 3rd load and still have to go back for one of the suburbans and 3 complete frames.
Good thing it is supposed to snow tonight into the weekend. I have my big garage FULL of crates to go thru. After I get it all cataloged and cleaned up I will be posting quite a bit for sale. Please don't ask for parts in this thread, I am just so excited I had to vent some. Here is a pic of one of them .

Re: Brought a couple more home
I'm guessing the shoulder belt in the Suburban is a recent aftermarket piece. Sorry to see the truck get neglected afterwards.

Re: Brought a couple more home
Nice score! Would it be possible for you to snap a picture of the front and rear doors from the inside with out the door panels on? I'm converting my Burb to a 72 door panel which mounts totally different than the 67-71 door panels. Thanks in advance.

Re: Brought a couple more home
Rob
Here is the 3rd & 4th door pics along with crude drawing for measurements. I Also included a pic of where I held the tape measure. It is basically right on the edge of the indent of the door. All measurements are from the front of the door edge to the centers of the holes. Any questions feel free to ask Richard .

Re: Brought a couple more home
Finally I was able to beat the incoming rain and get the 2nd burb and 3 frames loaded up and brought home. I originally "assumed" the frames were long beds & intended to just cut them up for parts. After I got them dug out I found out none of them are LWB frames. What i ended up with is one 72 GMC Jimmy frame that still has painted bumpers and all the cross members & springs still attached. I will likely keep this to restore for one of my Blazers.
One of the frames is a bare short bed frame with body mounts and all cross members except for the front suspension member the last frame is a SWB with a lowered 6 lug front end with Classic lowering coils and shocks and it has been boxed in the back with a home grown C notch and what appears to be a ladder bar attachment point. There were so many briars I did not look at them real close when i was out there the 1st time. I took my Bobcat over yesterday to help load the Burb and get the frames out. It was a shame to see the burb in this condition. Look at the options on the spid. The steering and 373 rear are long gone.

Re: Brought a couple more home
Totally missed your comment earlier. Yes they are definitely later model or aftermarket shoulder belts. Suprisingly the body is not in "that" bad of shape once i got it cleaned out. There are a couple lazy patches on the front floor and some rust in the bottoms of the doors but otherwise it "appears" in decent shape.

Got lucky and was able to get it all on one last load. tied some red rags on the back and was just legal on my overhang. Lucky they were short bed frames
