Foot well patch panel help
I'm replacing a portion of the floor, lower front door pillar and foot well with Asian made patch panels. I've notice that some panels have redundant coverage of the same are, I.E. the floor panel covers the same area as the front portion of an inner rocker panel patch would cover, so if using both, one of the two panels would have to be cut out in the area where it would be double covered. My question here is, with the lower door pillar patch panel and the front floor patch panel being installed, how much of the foot well panel would be used? Is all of it used, and sandwiched between he floor/inner rocker and the front door pillar, or is some of it redundant? And if so, how much of the foot well panel should be trimmed off before installation?
Thanks |

Re: Foot well patch panel help
There is a picture in the first post of this thread that should answer your question. Looks like you would not need to trim that part, its just an extra layer between the floor/inner rocker and the door pillar part.

Re: Foot well patch panel help
That's the way I did it. I did the floor, a pillar and the kick panel. I put in floor/inner rocker-the kickpanel set on top of the inner rocker and sandwiched between the a post and the outer rocker covered it all.

Re: Foot well patch panel help
A little tip that helped me out...go ahead and fill those 3 bolt holes on the bottom edge of that kick panel. Mine didn't line up very good at all and ended up plug welding them and drilling new holes once I got that piece welded in.

Re: Foot well patch panel help
I'm glad you said this. I'm trying to fit several re-pop panels into this one area and very few of the holes are lining up with the floor support holes. I figured it was either the Chinese parts weren't made quite right, the truck was seriously tweaked, or I was somehow screwing up the job.
