42 gal gas tank

I need more range in my 69 Suburban!!! I'm looking at swapping out the 21 gal. tank for a 42 gal.
Has anyone tried the diesel tank for a 94 to 99 Suburban? I'm curious if the stock sending unit from my 69 will fit the newer diesel tank. If not then I would be looking at the gas 42 gal. tank from a 92-97 Suburban. Same question though, will the sending unit from my 69 work on the newer one? The problem I see with the gas tank is it has 2 extra holes in it that I would have to figure out how to plug.

Re: 42 gal gas tank

Find someone that can check the Hollander Interchange manual to see if the the sender part numbers cross over. Most all wrecking yards can do this, wheather they will is another story.
