315/70r15 on my truck
i was thinking about getting some Truck Comp T/A's 315/70r15 for my truck http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/catal...ck_ta_hr4.html they say on there site rim size 8-10" i got 8.5's and was woundering if anyone hs pics of 315's and do i have to extend my wheelwells?

I looked at them too, but I don't think they would fit. I may be wrong, but I think anything wider than a 285 will stick out past the fender. The widest tire I have seen on a 67-72 was a 295/50-15, and it stuck out about 2''. I may be wrong, but I think a set of radial t/a s would be better. Those tires are so wide I am not sure what you would put them on, but anyway that's just my opinion.

ive seen someone on this board that had a blue truck (cant remember the name?) that had 315's and all he had to do was extend the wheelwells,hopefully he will read this

If you don't mind extending the wheelwells they would probably work. I wasn't saying you shouldn't use them, just that they were kind of wide for a stock truck. If you did use them, what would you put on the front? There is a 285/65 I think, but any of the other sizes would be about 4'' smaller than the 315s.

I have 275x60x15 (15x8" rims) Goodrich on my truck without stickout.

I've seen 295s and 305s on trucks without any body mods and both stuck out a little from the truck...
On mine, 275/60-15s fill it up nicely out back with '80s stock 4x4 rims, 15x8 I believe. Front is 235/60-15 (or 245? dang, can never remember...the Suburban uses one, my truck uses the other...) because the disc conversion I have from Early Classic shoves the wheels out a bit more than stock, any bigger rubs on the fender on semi-big bumps. Oh, and that Sport Truck T/A looks interesting...how long have those been out? Anyone used 'em? I might be needing replacements for the Radial T/As soon...

315/70's are alot taller than a 295/50 and are also narrower because of the 70 series. 295's are recommended for a 9.5 rim aren't they?

A 315mm tire is wider than a 295mm tire irreguardless of aspect ratio. The aspect ratio (or 70 in 315/70/15) tells you the tire sidewall height is 70% of 315mm. It's a simple formula:
315 div. by 25.4= 12.4"W 315 x 70%= 220.5 220.5/25.4= 8.68 8.68 x 2 + 15= 32.3"H or approx 32+/- depending on wheel width.

I have seen a guy that tucked 315's by special ordering rims with the backspacing to within 1/8". And he notched the piece that holds the outer bedside to the inner wheel well a little.

yea,i looked into the reg Comp T/A's but then I'd have to order a 10" rim,the added sidewall on these allow me to run my 8.5 rim,the tire its self is 32x12 ,but BFG is known for over measuring,so its probably 31x11.5 or so
