airshocks
thinking about leveling my 72 c-20
with some airshocks in the rear... just to get the tail end a little lower... has any one tried this? how do they affect handling? i got gabriel gas shocks all around presently...

Your springs are what effects ride height. Airshocks won't lower it.

do you know if drop shackles for '73 and up would fit? or what about mono springs?

I take it you have a leaf rear? You can buy drop shackles for our trucks. Check out www.gmcpauls.com he can get them.

Have to tried taking out the overload spring. That should be worth about 1/2"-3/4". Then maybe take out one of the short leafs. Just don't go too crazy. I took out to many. Dropped the rear about 4" but way to much axle wrap with the 402 launching it.

the thought of such had crossed my mind...
how does this affect ride, and load capabilities? i put a load of paving stones in the back and it looks kinda cool, leveled out like that... i thought i could possibly just run the shocks kinda low on air, then pump em up if i needed to haul anything...
