evaporust is the best
I have been using this stuff for a while on small screws and hardware. I am currently removing rust from my interior heater box. I broke down and bought a gallon of it so I could get rid of the light surface rust I can't reach with a wire brush. Can you tell how high the bath went? Wow.

Re: evaporust is the best
Thanks for the reminder, I'll be needing some soon. Lots of rusty old crap to clean up. It works amazingly well.

Re: evaporust is the best
That looks real good. Ever try white vinegar? It turns rust black then comes off with a brush. The Evaporust may be better for heavier rust.

Re: evaporust is the best
My 80 year old uncle thought i was pulling his chain about the vinegar trick. But at a fraction of the cost you get nearly the same results. He had about 100 clamps that were rusted up. A good soak in vinegar overnight and they were almost like new again. I do like the Evaporust products but cant spend the money when i know there is an alternative. Come to think of it i think i learned about the vinegar trick on this forum!

If you don't mind the looks of galvanized metal, try this: http://bit.ly/2lGoS36.
You can also buy "blueing" solution from gun builder suppliers. The metal turns a bluish black, and is pretty rust-resistant. |
