How Old is YOUR Fleet?
Struck me funny, I posted a pic on another thread and did some math. I have three vehicles, and their combined age is 130 years old! Not that impressive, when you consider many of the members of this forum. So, here's the question:
HOW OLD IS YOUR FLEET? Let's 'Keep it Classic'. Just the ones you have torn down and brought back. Mine is 130 years old~ 1969 Jeep CJ5 1972 C20 1980 P30 Snappy van

Re: How Old is YOUR Fleet?
I have a truck that's older than all yours combined. I don't have a picture because it's stored in a barn up at the homeplace, but here is a similar one:

I know this isn't a contest but It will be hard to compare to us guys that have some pretty old vehicles. The vehicles I have actually built, or did major work on (that I still have and run) add up to 305 years.... 1934 Ford Coupe = 83 1936 Ford Coupe = 81 1967 Chevy PU = 50 1971 Chevy PU = 46 1972 Chevy C30 = 45 Total = 305 Looks like I need to get some up to date pictures taken.... Re: How Old is YOUR Fleet?
Kingsolver 72, I have to say that your pic with the barn, the trucks and that gravel drive is easily in my top 10 photos of places I wish I could be drinking a beer! It takes me back way too many years, back before I started chasing work and wife and things in life. Very nice!
Lokdoc, Allchevy, Mongo..... A bow to my elders in fleet years!

Re: How Old is YOUR Fleet?
I think people missed the torn down and brought back part. I don't have any of those at this time. I have 122 years worth of vehicles, which is the unrestored '72 K2500, the '67 SWB project that is being brought back from assorted parts/never tore anything down, and the '95 year-round driver K2500 Suburban. I have a 27 year old Harley I've torn down and brought back.
I think a more interesting way to format this would be to ask the average age, since obviously the more vehicles the older total age. Average age says more about a fleet. For my three vehicle fleet the average age would be about 40.66.

Yeah, looks like it. If I include the ones I have that were driveable when I purchased them and I didn't do any MAJOR work on, my total would go up to 684 years. My average for 12 vehicles would be 57 years old. LockDoc

Re: How Old is YOUR Fleet?
Good points. I'm getting to the end of my rebuild on the 72, and thought it would be fun to add up the years on stuff I drive.
I used to own a 1966 M20C... damn near rebuilt that one. Points for anyone that knows what that is! Hint: Top speed is 180 MPH. Best wishes, All!

Re: How Old is YOUR Fleet?
That's what I meant! I find those engines interesting. I have a subscription to Skinned Knuckles and several years ago they did a pretty good article on the Wiilys car company and the Knight engine connection.

Re: How Old is YOUR Fleet?
My 71 c-10 and 67 c-20 Ramp truck.=138.
Then add the 56 and the 64=258. I'm picking the 56 up this afternoon after work from the paint shop. It's finally all painted! And as of March 19 2017 I will have owned my C-10 RED truck 31 years! I'm not done with it either so just remember that when you working on your own trucks. Ha!
