Correct pitman arm for steering box swap?

Reposting this here because the suspension seems pretty slow...

Hey guys, I have been trying to search and read but I am having a hard time coming up with what I need to do.

I have a 68 c10 with a manual steering box and I am trying to replace the box with a power one from an 87.

Do I use the pitman arm from the 87 power box or do I need to get one from a 68 with power steering?

Thanks for the help

I'm pretty sure you are going to need the one from the 87. IIRC, the manual box has a smaller output shaft than the power box. You will also need the draglink and the tie rod ends from the 87. You might as well just swap the whole front crossmember, .

I posted this in the Suburbans and Panels section and not the Pickups section. Can someone move it for me?

just did the same swap on my 69. You need a power steering pitman arm for the truck , I bought one for a '72 and everything worked fine.

Why would this be?
