1968 396 power steering reservoir mount photos

I'm looking for photos showing the location where the bracket mounts on the fender. I searched and couldn't find any good photos. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the photo. I could only find photos with the bracket leading towards the fender. How is the bracket mounted? Are there nuts welded to the core support?

Interesting. I have only seen them mounted to the drivers side fender in 68. But like ghalperin said I have not seen many pics. I am working on building 68 bb replica so am also interested in more pics.

kwmech is that a factory set up?

It that a picture of your truck? Would you mind getting a measurement were that bracket is located from the core support?

Sorry OP hope I am not hijacking.

Re: 1968 396 power steering reservoir mount photos

LH fender on my 402 trucks. Two vertical holes located approx. 1" rear the LH gusset I think it's called, which mounts the top front corner of the fender and core support. The bolts insert from inside the fender. Bolts are 1/2" head tapered with integrated washers. The screw threads are 5/16-18 x 7/8.

I'm the 3rd owner of the truck with documented 110k original miles. I always thought it was. But I have 2 other trucks with big blocks in them where the mount is on the fender, one is a 68 chevy and the other a 69 GMC, but they both have the TP2 extra battery tray.

My former 68 was set up just like ChaseBBC's pic. It was a factory 396 truck.

Re: 1968 396 power steering reservoir mount photos

My 72 Cheyenne 402 Big Block has it directly mounted to the fender just like KWMECH in the above pic, I believe it is factory for 72. I'm currently restoring my reservoir but will post pics when done.

Too grubby for a decent pic

When you get a chance, could you measure the distance between the front bolt on the hinge to the bolt on the reservoir mount? Center to center.
