I hit the jackpot- 85 1 Ton
Having picked up a nice 85 K20 recently, I stumbled across an 85 1 ton, same color and in great condition. Gave the guy $350 for the right to take everything I wanted off of it.
1st off was the clutch pedal assembly and hydroboost assembly I have been searching for! Next was the bucket seats and console. Remarkably, the dash was in almost perfect condition, no cracks! Took the doors, fenders, hood and glass. It had power locks and windows, which mine did not. Because its the same year and color, it is actually easier to swap the doors than the power stuff. There are zero scratches or dents in any of the sheet metal. BTW: This is a diesel 2wd, if that matters. I believe the four speed trans is a 465 (?), but I ain't making the effort to pull it. I already have 2 4500's. Last edited by SunSoaked; 04-15-2017 at 11:14 PM. |

Re: I hit the jackpot- 85 1 Ton
Can someone please tell what the locking lever thing on the steering column is? I don't believe its a tilt column but I don't know what this thing is. It didn't have any keys so I can't do much with it until I change the tumbler.

And I doubt those seats (and console) came in that truck. Doesn't make sense to have armrests on both sides. However, I like it and plan to keep them.

You have to depress that lever to remove the keys. It's because the parts truck had a standard transmission

The locking lever thing is to get the key out.
When you turn the ignition off as far as it goes, you then push the lever down and the key goes the rest of the way off so you can remove the key. Mike. |

Yeah, someone needs to show the rest of that cab/chassis some love. That frame looks serviceable yet.
