Rear end gear patterns

Good morning all, I sat down to set up me new rear end yesterday. I started with the stock pinion shim and increased .005 twice. The stock shim looked a little shy so I added .005 and it still looked a little shy so I went another .005. What are you all's thoughts?

I personally like the second try with the .030 pinion shim, but then again, this is my first time setting up a gear so I'd like to get other opinions.

The first 2 pictures are the stock .025 pinion shim, back lash .007

Hi neighbor. I like the one with the .030 shims in the second set. You seem to be doing a good job for the first one you have done.

I like the .035 shim, coast side looks great and drive side is toward the carrier which when under hard acceleration should move your contact to the center of the gear.

Re: Rear end gear patterns

Thanks everyone! I am leaning towards the .030 pinion shim. Coast is more or less centered and drive is towards the inside, which is where Richmond indicates is good. I feel like the .035 shim moved the coast more towards the inside, but the drive is good.

I appreciate all of the help. Once again, the community helped out!
