Go disc, keep your 6-lug a 6-lug, for cheap!

I have their conversion on my 64 impala SS (fits under stock wheels and no track width change) and am very impressed with the quality of the parts.

I haven't seen this posted on here.

It looks like the price only includes the brackets. I wonder what new hubs, rotors, bearings, and seals would cost?

I am thinking:

Rotors: $80 ea if you have to pay retail
Calipers: $60 each (again retail)
Hoses: $40
Brake lines (you would need to do that anyways no matter the kit)
Combo valve $60 (retail)

BUT - You get the part numbers and can go get replacement parts yourself anywhere. Not depend on the big names for the new pads, rotors, calipers, etc...

AND you are getting light duty 3/4 ton front brakes.

Looks like a nice option, but I already went with a 1972 100% stock setup for my '70. Even included the '72 crossmember.

One concern I'd have with a kit like this is the thickness of the adapter bracket. Too thin and you's have deflection and/or vibration problems. But it sounds like you've already sampled their kits and have had good luck, so that's cool.

Doesn't the factory 5 lug swap put the wheels out far? I don't see how it could.

I know I see 5 lug trucks and the fronts always look like they are too wide compared to the rear.

I didn't click the link BUT that Scarebird guy has a really good rep for his products being top notch stuff. I don't know him nor have I ever used anything of his.

I used their kit on my '59 T-Bird and it worked out great, perfect fit and super easy install. I already swapped my '69 GMC to disc with a CPP kit.

Would this work for non-power brakes?

Why would it not? Its the master that matters in that case.

I contacted them:

Me:

Hi – I have your kit on my 64 impala ss and it is awesome and I run the stock 14” steelies. My question, is the kit for the 1964-70 2wd ½ truck designed to allow drum steel wheels to be used? Thanks!

Them:

It worked with the rims we tested if you round or clip the corners of the calipers.

Just looked on E-Bay, and there was a pair of rotors and ceramic pads for like $77 bucks
