4 1/2- 6 drop question for 70 c10
Hi all,
to those of you how have a 4.5-6 drop in a 70 c10, how is it to drive daily? I have a Buddy who has a 4-6 drop in a 66 and he drags all over the place. I was thinking of a 4.5-6 but now am rethinking as I live in Oklahoma where the roads less than favorable. I want to enjoy the rise as I remember as a kid. I don't want to be dodging every bad spot in the road. your input is all welcomed. Thanks Chip |

I have ECE 2 1/2 drop spindle 1 1/2 springs rear airbag swap for 4/6 drop.I wanted 2 in springs but the tech guy at ECE said for everyday driving it would be too low. I cut my snubbers in half and I drive it REAL HARD! It takes a big dip to hit the snubbers in front.

what size tires/ wheels are you running? I am thinking 4 1/2 6 on 20 in wheels, I have seen several trucks on here with that setup and from the pics looks like enough ground clearance.

My 65 is lowered 5/7 Ive only scrubbed a few times. Gravel rutted driveways always get me though. How often it bottoms out also depends on what size tires are being used as well which you probably already knew that. I have scrubbed maybe once on asphalt, I just watch what Im doing and where I am going lol

29" rear tire OD These would be similar to a 20" combo in size so you should be fine (255/40-20; 295/40-20).

Re: 4 1/2- 6 drop question for 70 c10
I ran a 4.5/6.75 drop on my 68 for several years. I didn't daily drive it, but it got driven quite often, even in the bad roads in Knoxville. I wouldn't have any second thoughts about driving on daily lowered this much.
