Axle code AY 345.1
I've looked at old threads to determine where to find my axle code and I looked on the guide, but my code is not on there. Any ideas?
Edit: it says AY W345.1 |

I looked over the codes again and found RAY under 1972 showing 3.07. Maybe the PO swapped it out. My truck is 1971.

It should be a 3:07 based on your spid. 70-72 axles should have 3 letter codes. Check and make sure there isn't another letter in front of the ones you found. It could be lightly stamped. I have a book of codes I can look at when I get home.

Standard axle ratios are mot listed on a SPID. A 1/2 ton, 350 automatic would have a 3:07 gear as standard

Looking at your picture there is a very lightly stamped "R" in front of the "AY"
