quick video tip for those getting their factory ac working.

A quick video I made of one thing that should be done that often times is overlooked. https://youtu.be/CQdXlwr5lwg

Thumbs up Re: quick video tip for those getting their factory ac working.

One of the best mods I ever did to my truck was close off the cowl vent. It keeps the trash out of it and your cab temp is on the average about 10* colder once the AC has been on for a while. It's in max all the time and no outside air is being blended in to it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Here is what mine looked like when pulled from the box the other day. Flushed and pressure checked now, ready to reinstall

How did you pressure test your evaporator?

After blowing out all the flush residue I just plugged the small bleeder line and line that connects to the expansion valve and held it in a bucket of water while I pressurized it with my air hose and looked for bubbles. Probably not the "right way" to do it but it works for me. Next will be to hook everything back up and see if it holds vacuum.

I also scored 4 more cans of r-12 and a can of oil charge on CL today

Re: quick video tip for those getting their factory ac working.

I'd say should work as the evap doesn't normally see very high pressures. I keep having to tell guys that r12 just isn't that hard to come by or that expensive as some think. Just have to keep an eye out on Craigslis, eBay, swap meets, or even at garage sales
