Horn Questions

Do we need to use a relay for the horn to work on a 1960 GMC with a V-6? I have E-Z wiring and I don't see the hook up? I found this drawing and it seem generic enough.

Re: Horn Questions

Yes, you need a relay, and yes, that diagram you found will work.

The horn button in the steering column is on the ground side of the circuit so it can't be used to feed power directly to the horn. But it can be used to trigger a relay that will send power to the horn.

Re: Horn Questions

I called EWZ-Wiring and they have the relay wired in as part of their fuse block wiring, so I must be having horn contact issues. They said ground the horn from the block that goes to the column and see if that causes it to blow.
