Saved a couple more rustbuckets... c-10, jimmy

Its too bad everything you find in MN is basically for parts. Hauled these in this week, no time to part right now, so nothing is for sale. Up first, The c-10...

I think the tailgate was pretty nice before it was outside the chicken coop for the last 20+ years. One trailing arm is kind of "Z" shaped... 6 cyl 3speed supposedly run but has trans linkage issues. Not much good on it. 70 model.

Re: Saved a couple more rustbuckets... c-10, jimmy

The 72 jimmy... Someone added a lot of goodies to this over the years. VERY rusty. (see pics!) Again, supposedly ran when parked. (like all of them) but the drivers door hasn't been opened in years because of rust. Does not have a drivers side hood hinge because there is nowhere to bolt it to! Lots of good parts, but no body panels.

Cool, it's always fun to drag those rough ones home for spare parts. Especially when they have some rare options on them. When you do decide to part I would be interested in the Jimmy radio antenna if available.

At least the top and lift gate hatch are not rustable.

It is nice considering it sat outside for 20 years.

The jimmy has some nice parts and I need an interior for one, so it will work out good.

True, but all the hardware to remove them is! Rust sucks...

Some times i yell at people for parting out really nice trucks just to make a profit. You on the other hand i like to shake your hand.If i lived back where you live I be doing the same thing.Been in the scrap and salvage for more then 20 years.I'm not one for parting out a car or truck that still has life to live.Keep up the good work.

Try and save them all instead of going to the junker

Shame about that Jimmy. It looked like it was real nice, but WHOA! that's a lot of rust.

I understand you need good parts to build good trucks, but hard to save Minnesota trucks sometimes...

Even says nothing for sale in the first paragraph... Usually my threads like this are well behaved. I just like to show what is out there if you put your time in.

Yep, hole through the tailgate, holes through the top of the hood, in the dash pic, you can see the dash is rusted away from the cowl...

I've never seen a door or a dash rust like that! That's a shame but we all need good parts, and good parts are getting hard to find.

Even part of the windshield frame is gone inside. It really is not as good as it looks.
