Fuel tank

I have 69 longhorn and someone has installed a vented tank (factory behind the seat). My question is, can I plug the vent lines and use the original vented cap? And, since my fuel gauge doesn't work, will a 69 sending unit fit the vented tank? It's running original 350 and th400.
I'm new to forums and hope I'm doing this right.

Re: Fuel tank

This is the projects and builds section.
You almost put this question in the right place, it would go here instead which is the parent for this sub.
