69 c10 motor build questions
I recently found a cracked head on my 350. So now I'm looking to replace it and my cam. I have a idea what I want to do, but I want some options for those that know this stuff better then I.
I just wanting a good strong running truck that sounds really good. I live 20 miles from the nearest place to buy anything. And 30miles from work. So most my driving is at 70miles an hour. I have a 350 with flat top pistons that is bored .040 over. I'm wanting cast iron heads with 1.94 or 2.02 intake valves, 65 cc chambers, aerohead has rebuild cast dart iron eagle heads too that I haven't ruled out. I have a edelbrock performer dual plane intake, idle-5500 RPM with a 600 cam edelbrock carb. I have 1.625in headers with flow master knock offs 2.25in exhaust pipe. Summit 1103 cam, 214-224 duration and .050 lift and 444/466 lift. I want to hear it. I have 30in tall rear tires with 307 gears and a trubo 400 with stock stall speed converter. I may change rear gear, but I'm really liking to be able to drive the interstate at 80 and not having the motor screaming. Also want to leave in Stock torque converter. For some reason my trubo 400 shifts around 4000 rpms so this motor won't see much higher then that unless I manually shift it. So am I on the right track, or way off? And are 2.02 heads over k8ll? |
