6 Qt oil pan

I've done a couple searches and can't find an answer to my question. Will a 6 qt oil pan on a small block fit in a 67 c-20? And is there really that much benefit to have a 6 qt pan?
I bought a mildly built 350, it has a 6qt oil pan on it. what I should have asked will it clear the cross member, or should I use the oil pan off the 327 that was originally in it?

Not sure what the benefit might be other than cooling. Small blocks have a pretty good oil system. I don't think much of Fram filters these days, but the PH373 will screw on and adds about a quart. I think the Wix equivalent is 51794.

Will it fit, really depends on which brand you use. I'd see no benefit to just increasing the oil capacity of a street driven vehicle. It'll just run up your oil change tab by about 3-5 bucks for the extra quart. If heavy hauling or towing is in the trucks future, an oil cooler would be a more practical investment.

If you are referring to a stock 5 qt pan + 1 qt filter vs. a 4 qt pan + 1 qt filter then yes it will fit.

Sorry if I confused the thread with the oil filter bit.

OP is asking about a 6 quart pan only.

I'd put the 5 quart pan on the mild 350 and call it a day.
