17x9 steel wheel options

My idea is to get some better handling tires/better stance on my truck but I really want to keep it stock looking and re-use the dog dish.

Where is a good source for a 17x9 steel that the dog dish can mount to?

I looked at coker, but the 17 is insanely expensive for a steel rim. The 15" at $90 even seems crazy

Do I have any other options... that type of coin for a steel rim is hard to swallow....

I think the most difficult part of your search will be steelies that are 17" that can have stock caps attached. I'm not aware of any beyond custom aftermarket setups that are, as you noted, pricey.

I believe the 16" WheelVintiques steelies can mount the stock dog dish caps.

Nissan uses 17" 6-lug steelies on the Armada and Titan.

The large diameter steelies are hot right now. You're not going to find anything aftermarket even close to the $90 for the 15 inchers I'm afraid. Your best bet, as demian5 pointed out, is to look at OEM steel wheels. To the extreme, my 22" steel GM Transit wheels were "only" $150 each. The Nissan wheels could work, and a quick scan of ebay has them for about $80-100 each, but they are definitely not stock looking.

welp... maybe some cragar SS will be the best route. I can stomach paying more for those... but... I was really hoping to keep it stock looking. Stock looking rim/dog dish with a wider/lower profile aggressive tire. I thought that would be a neat look without making it look so obvious something was changed.

$90 is not a lot of money for a wheel. Doesn't matter what it's made of, if you like the look of steelies over the look of added flash you will spend what it costs. Same as all the crazy money people pay for flavor of the week tutti fruity wheels. I was paying $75 a wheel 30+ years ago for new wide steelies. Add the cost of powder coat and a nice set of hubcaps and it cost more than custom alloy wheels that were "the trend". I didn't always run steelies with hubcaps to save money, I ran them because I like the look. I always wondered why the majority went for the alloy trends and figure their thinking was "If I'm going to spend the money I want to add some flash". I guess that was an accurate conclusion if they were thinking same as you. Get what you like. It's always a toss up with wheel choices. I like mags, too.

Just to throw another wrench into the works, those 17x9 Coker wheels aren't available in 5x5 truck bolt pattern, only the 5x4 3/4 passenger car bolt pattern.

I'm in the "converting to disc and gotta replace my drum brake wheels" boat. I've been looking at Wheel Vintiques so I could go with a stock cap. Those 17" Coker are interesting though and I think it would look good with a stock cap. I was going to convert to 5 lug anyway, now I gotta check out 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern options.
