Shaving door handles on 67
If I was to shave the handles on my 67, what lb. solenoids would I need? Also does anybody have a link to a site that outlines installation of the kit?
thanks

Cochino did his and is using nothing more then door lock selonoids.
Do a search, he posted some pictures of his installation here, Or Pm him, He sent them to quite a few of us. He probably still has them on his harddrive. Ron |

If you used some type of pully system that might work. But I know my doors are pretty stuborn even after everything is properly lubed.
I went with 35# pull, kicks open every time.

It depends on how hard the latches are to trip open. I removed the locking arm from mine by drilling out the rivet that holds them on, then greased the crud out of everything with white lithium grease and they work fine with just good ol' power door lock actuators from the junkyard.
I know that some of the guys on here have done something similar but have gained some mechanical advantage by fabing up a bellcrank system. I can't remember exactly who was talking about this a while back, but I'm sure you can find it if you run a search for shaved doors. TS

The Bellcrank system is Kenneth's (XXL) over on My old truck.com.
He has a sketch on one of his post. Ron |
