Proper placement of K10 front spring spacers?

I am getting ready to install new front springs on my K10 (1970 frame), and I was wondering if anyone knows how to properly install the 4 spacers that I ordered based on the LMC catalog page located here: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=59

It says that I needed 4 of them (item 7) so that is what I ordered. The illustration only shows one on the top of the spring, and when I took mine apart I only found one on the passenger side between the axle and the spring.

My guess is that I should install one above and one below the spring, but I have a few days before I install them so I thought I would ask the question.

Thanks!

Re: Proper placement of K10 front spring spacers?

I've seen them between the spring pack & the axle. I've also seen them between the individual leaves. They are supposed to stop squeaks & allow the spring to flex easier. I would do just what you said, one on top & one on bottom. I don't think these year trucks came with them from the factory but, I could be wrong (every time I think I know something I prove myself wrong)

My K20 has one above and one below each spring pack, as you suggest. These are Softrides that I installed many years ago.... I can only guess they came with the kit and that I followed instructions as I went.

Thank you B. W. and Stocker for your input. I will go ahead and install them above and below the springs.
