rear end
I have a 72 c-10 and would like to know what the rear end ratio is, there is no tag. I know there are other ways of figuring it out but don't know what they are. Any instructions or methods will be greatly appreciated.

Re: rear end
Pop off the cover count the teeth on the ring gear the look in and count the teeth on the pinion divide ring by pinion and that's your gear ratio. That's the definitive way to be absolutely sure.

Re: rear end
If nothing else, you can pull the cover off and look at the ring gear. The number of ringer gear and pinion teeth is usually stamped onto the outside of the ring gear. Example, "41-10", which is a 4.10. Or if it isn't marked like that, just count the number of ring gear teeth and divide by pinion teeth.
