How hot is too hot

I'm running a Mark IV 454, other than that I don't know anything about it. In Texas the outside ambient temperature is running in the high 90's to low 100's. At operating temp my Autometer Sport Comp gauge is reading 200 to 220 sitting in traffic.

Just wondering what some of the engine guys thoughts were on that operating temp.

Re: How hot is too hot

220 is fine as long as it doesn't get any hotter and your system is sealed with a coolant recovery tank.
