Pics of the front suspension? If it's independent I believe later model til 87 1 ton would be an easy swap.

It has torsion bars and no coil spring. Basically the same as the 1960 c-10 but bigger drums and maybe bigger spindles.

I've always heard of the 79-85 front suspension swap, I may do that from a 1 ton.

I've heard the same. And I know they are really easy to get out, tie rods shocks brake hoses and about 6 bolts.
The whole x member and A arms come out as 1 unit.

Definitely the hydro boost, thats my main objective.

I'm either going to buy a complete donor truck or buy parts from a truck.

I'll install disc brakes, hydro boost and a TH400 trans out of a newer chevy truck. Once thats installed, I can then run a hydraulic winch through my hydro boost system.

Most of these truck came with a 454 but I don't know if I want to go that big, but hey, if it comes with a truck then ya never know......

Re: can disc brakes be installed on a 62 c-40?

Well, I'm installing hydroboost disc brakes, 454 engine and a TH400 trans. I started tearing into a truck today to get my parts.

I'm going to make a safe FAST and trustworthy 60's ramp truck!

The later K members should swap over. On my 63 1 ton panel I used a donor 84 truck. The 3 main bolts that bolt in vertically should mount right up. 2 on the side should also bolt up. You will have to drill one new hole and oblong another and that's about it. That's assuming this has a similar width frame.

Re: can disc brakes be installed on a 62 c-40?

I tore into my donor truck and now have a front and rear suspension along with a 454 and TH400.

I bought the truck delivered to my door for $1000, sold the aluminum box for $200 and the rest of the truck for $80.00, not bad.

Thanks! I did the K member swap on my panel. Wasn't hateful. Think I'm going to try to swap a K member from a 92 G30 onto my 66 C50!
