Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
I bought a 1948 truck a few years ago and it was mostly in boxes. I am down to a few trim pieces and interior parts that I need to identify. I am using an after market chassis so some of this stuff will not be reused, but I wanted to know what it was so I could pass it along to somebody else who needs it once I finish my project. Thanks in advance for your help!
Here are some pics of the parts. |

Interesting problem. K and H look like brake and clutch pedals. The second picture is various cab trim. I'd suggest looking at lmctruck.com and studying their brochure for your year truck. You might find similar shaped pieces.
Also check this: http://www.classicparts.com/Retainer.../products/812/ 4 and 3 might be product 03-061: Lower door seal retainer

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
Thanks for the idea on the (3). I originally thought it attached to the bottom edge of the door, but it was too long. Turns out it fits on the cab in the same area. Screw holes lined up to confirm it.
(3) attaches to the cab floor on the edge where it seals with the door. (L) is some type of emergency brake bracket. Just saw it today in a catalog. (E) & (D) are fender gap filler pieces that attach to the cab just below the hood hinge |

Yep. L J andI are all e brake stuff. H and K are clutch and brake . G and F look like clutch connection stuff and may be duplicates as I think there should only be one of each. X2 on the E and D from the previous post

L bolts to the front of the cab right at the bottom of the firewall drivers side.

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
Thanks. G makes a lot of sense now. I was trying to figure out why my running board had a square hole there!
Still confused on 3 and 4. I was able to match 3 to the floor of the cab where it make the 90 degree bend. The holes lined up and the part fit perfectly. 4 is too long to fit along the bottom edge of the door or the cab along the bottom edge of the door opening. It is about 6 inches too long so it is not even close. |

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
Here is D in place, but am I missing something between the cab floor and the back edge of the inner fender?

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
I have the rear fender braces installed and #2 is much longer than what I have installed. Pretty sure the braces I used were correct since they came off the original fenders. Are there two braces on each side for the rear fenders?
Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. |

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
#4 belongs under the cab, holds a rubber strip by the door

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
I think 3 & 4 go under the cab & hold a rubber flap to the bottom of the cab. the flap fills the gap between the bottom of the cab & the top of the running board

Re: Help Identifying Misc Parts 1948 Truck
#3 goes where he currently has #4 and the one he has on the door (#4) goes under the cab for that cab to running board rubber
These should all be in the Assembly manual |
