'78 Engine Bay Wiring Harness

I have not been able to find an engine bay harness only. I am looking for an Engine Bay wiring harness for a 1978 C-10 with a Carbureted 454 automatic trans. The truck is a Scottsdale. The wiring in the cab (fuse box side) looks fine. I just wanted to replace everything from the firewall forward on the engine side.

Any ideas? I do have my original one, maybe rebuild it? Would love some advice :-)

Cheers!

Watch ebay - I've seen them on there. Also can always go painless/LMC but they are expensive. I'd rebuild the original if you can.

There is a frequent contributor to the forum that builds wiring harnesses:

I had to rebuild the whole truck. 40 year old truck wiring is just too brittle and mine had been hacked to hell. I used this kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-82-Chev....c100005.m1851

Here is a typical stock replacement engine harness for example. I dont do rolls of wiring-my harnesses are a direct replacement with all connectors in place for your year.

My engine harnesses are $169 plus shipping which usually comes in at $8 so $177 total.

Hey GMACHINZ do I get a referral fee for recommending you? haha.

So do you have the ability to build a harness which includes a new fuse block and the firewall feed thru parts - essentially can I replace every wire and every connector?

Re: '78 Engine Bay Wiring Harness

Lol... well I do stock the majority of connectors-some are obsolete and not being reproduced-but I'd say I have the ability to replace 80% of any given 73-91 squarebody. It can get tricky when it comes to diesel applications and such.

Re: '78 Engine Bay Wiring Harness

I also keep a fairly sizable stock of NOS dis-continued terminals/connectors just for my harness builds.

Re: '78 Engine Bay Wiring Harness

Good Afternoon,

I would be interested in one of your engine harnesses. I have a '79 Chevy stepside..I have installed a ramjet 502.

I am curious as to what would be available, either in-stock or custom build.

Thank you for your attention,

Tony
