Radiator questions

I am looking for some pics and info on radiator installations. I have a 79 K10 with the tall radiator in it. I have an OER radiator ordered from Classic Industries but so far I have gotten 2 of them and they are damaged. So I'm just looking for options if I can't seem to get a good one.

I don't want one with plastic tanks. Doesn't "look" right in an older truck. So that's out.

Don't really want to go aluminum but will if I have to. If I go aluminum it has to fit like the original and use factory mounts and shroud. No mods to it.

So pics and info of radiators that you installed. Any issues or not is appreciated.

I went to the (salvage yard) and found a nice original copper and brass radiator for under a "C" note. You could maybe get one for less but original is nice. Been in there a year doing good. New copper and brass ran 400 to 600.

got my aluminum replacement at O'Reilly. ...fit like a glove...no mods needed

I will be getting a mishimoto for my build. I don't have experience with them but I know they're the go-to brand for a lot of (tuner) guys. They're made in Japan and have a solid aluminum construction. They also have a life time warranty for the ownership of your vehicle and surprisingly they have one for these trucks or they say fits them. They're a bit expensive but if it ever breaks you're already ahead with your money than you would be with a griffin. They also have rad hoses for these trucks too.

sorry.no pics..its in the truck..and with the shroud and dual elec fans there's not much to see..its the wide single core from O'Reilly. .core is 1 1/4 wide..with my 6.0 its sits around 185 no matter how hot the day is..https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/m...59536?q=433716

I got a Spectra aluminum/plastic from Autozone a few years ago. No problems with it. I used to buy only copper/brass but the quality of those is now very poor in my experience. I live in the 115 degree desert, so I think that gives a radiator a real workout. I have never had it overheat, which I cannot say for the copper/brass ones I had. The Spectra was a direct fit - no modifications required. Autozone had free shipping and 20% off so the cost was under $100. Also, I have a 454 BB, so it generates a lot of heat.
