steel rims
Hello All,
I need a second set of rims for smaller tires to tow. I was thinking of the old school steel rims and hub caps like in the 70-80s. Does anyone know,,,, will any 16 rim work? most were 16.5 back in the day but it is the ridge near the lug nuts that support the cap. I was going to cruise the junk yard this weekend and look for a set. Last edited by chris989; 09-23-2017 at 09:21 PM. |

Re: steel rims
pretty sure almost all these 8 lug rims are the same bolt pattern. i got a set of old crappy 16 inch steel rims off a 84 k30 on my 1952 1ton and they fit perfectly.
the k30 on the right has 15s which technically fit if you dont mind grinding calipers down for a hour |

Re: steel rims
The 16.5's were phased out in the late 80's. They were used because the 16.5 tires were generally higher load capacity than 16's. Ford and dodge rims wok too although the hub pilot is bigger.
