Best Radiator?

I need a new 4 core radiator for my 1972 suburban dual ac automatic I want to keep the original look with the fan clutch and fan shroud but I need to keep this beast cool it has a fairly stock motor now but I would like to be ready for more hoarse power. AND I LIVE IN ARIZONA 125 degrees in the summer. The smart think to do would be move some place cooler but I am stuck here for now. I would like a direct fit and I am trying to avoid electric fans if possible.

Go to post #29

And read this:

It is counter intuitive, a 2 core with 1" tubes will cool better than a shorter tube 4 core.

Re: Best Radiator?

Personally, I prefer OEM brass radiators. My truck came with a shiny aluminum 4 row, Be-Cool radiator. One of the seals started to leak, so I took it in to a radiator shop. They informed me that aluminum radiators are epoxied together and can't be repaired. Threw that piece of crap in the scrap pile and bought a good heavy duty brass one. no more problems.

First I have NO affiliation with this company. I just know from practical experience and in a hot climate and after running their radiator for the past three years and 12,000+ miles, it works. I also know the price is exceptional.

Not all aluminum radiators are epoxied.

From Engineered Cooling Products website specifically for the 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks. This is the one in my truck.

This is our HD aluminum radiator for the 1967 - 1972 Chevy trucks that use the 28-1/4" wide core radiator with 4-row mounts. It features:

- Lifetime Warranty

- Die formed tanks to give your ride the vintage style with modern high efficiency cooling technology.

- All aluminum construction with a heavy duty 2-row core with 1.0" tubes.

- Heavy duty transmission cooler.

- Billet CNC machined filler neck. A new cap is included.

- Fully TIG welded construction with no epoxy.

- Upper hose connection is 1-1/2", lower is 1-3/4".

- Core dimensions are 28-1/4" wide x 17-1/4" tall. Overall dimensions 34" wide x 19" high.

- Billet heater return port with plug.

- Also available with dual electric fans and aluminum shroud
